Dr. S.R. Ranganathan’s Day was celebrated in the college on the 24th of September 2013. Dr. M. Prabhakara Joshi was the Chief Guest. He spoke on the life and achievements of Dr.S.R. Ranganathan and his Five Laws of Library Science. He also spoke on the development of information technology, information explosion and explained how aptly Ranganathan’s Classification system concepts have been adapted even in developing Web sites & in the modern electronic era.
Prof. Sathish Bhat, the principal presided over the function. Pallavi & Vaishnavi rendered prayer. Mrs. Indira, the Librarian, welcomed & introduced the chief guest. Rekha Devi presented a brief account of Dr.S.R.Ranganathan. Shruthi rendered vote of thanks. Raghavendra Prasad compered the programme.
