Laksha Vraksha Programme

To create awareness among the students to develop planting the saplings to improve afforestation,This programme was organised by department of forestry Mangalore division and Karnataka state pollution control board in association with Zilla Panchayath DK district, Mangalore City Corporation and NSS university of Mangalore on July 10, 2015. A team of NSS volunteers of our college presented a street play on this occasion the main objective of the play is to draw the attention of young minds about the impact of deforestation. The play sent a message of creating awareness of planting more trees. The programme was attended by Sri B Ramanath Rai , Minister for Forestry , Government of Karnataka , Sri J R lobo , MLA Mangalore south constituency and other dignitaries and officials of the district. The department honoured the personalities with ”Aranya Mitra Prashasti”  who made great contribution in this field . In this programme Nada geethe was sung by the students of our college. This programme is recognition to the volunteers of Canara College and also it helps to build competency among the students

Street play and other program were organized by the institution. Message was given to the students to plant atleast one plant every year to bring greenery in the city.Total number of 25 students participated in the program
