Symposium on “Education in Assembly” and Release of Analytical Report

Education has always been important and it is crucial for the entire developmental process of a country, its welfare and progress. The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of the College in association with SIO, Karnataka jointly organized a Symposium on “Education in Assembly” and Release of Analytical Report, on Monday, September 14, 2015 at 12:00 Noon in the College Seminar Hall.

Chief Guest Sri J. R. Lobo, MLA, Mangaluru South Constituency on releasing the Analytical Report on “Education in Assembly” congratulated SIO for their commendable initiative in bringing out the same. In his address he said – “The discussion in the Assembly has to reflect the prevailing condition of the society and not otherwise. It must give scope for healthy discussions that can contribute to the well-being of all. However, at times the Assembly and its discussion have given me varied experiences during my participation. Further, we still lag in providing the value-based education to our students to the fullest and in the real sense. Hence, discussion and analytical report of this sort shall certainly ponder to consider such issues and find ways and means to address the same.”

Dr. Niranjanardya V.P., Educationist, National Law School University of India in his address, he enlightened the audience on the current state of affairs with regard to education in our country and the importance of providing equitable quality education to all children. He gave a call to the youth to safeguard the nobility and Stability of Educational Institutions. He expressed his concern for the lower budget allocated by the State for education.

Mr. Thouseef Ahmed Madikeri, National Secretary, SIO of India in his address said that – “SIO aims to prepare a generation of dedicated and committed students and youth for continuous struggle; who through their talents, skills and efficiencies can contribute for the benefit and welfare of society.Further, the Government shall focus on improving the standards of educational institutions.”

Mr. Agheel Ahmed S., State Secretary, SIO Karnataka said – “SIO through its wide range of initiatives strives to prepare students and youths for reconstruction of society. Further, SIO has been addressing issues concerning students, education and society at large, whenever required.”

Principal Dr. K. V. Malini welcomed the guests, invitees and the gathering. IQAC Coordinator Dr. Manohar S. JoishiKumble proposed the vote of thanks. Mrs. TharaKumari, Faculty, Dept. of Kannada compered the programme.

The symposium enabled a means to discuss on the existing state of affairs of our education system and it directed the need of drawing a suitable road map for addressing these challenges and issues. It strived to achieve the core values of contributing to national development and inculcating value system.
