Debate on Death Penalty-Far/Against.

The punishment for heinous crime is DEATH PENALTY” is still in force in India.But more than 50 countries of the world abolished this practice.A Debate is going onat the civil society level for the abolishment of Death Penalty in India.because, it is argued that, practice of Death Penalty violates the Right to life of an individual.so, it should be abolished.Debate comprised of two group of students,one in favour and another against.The Students of Human Rights Cell have been conducted a Debate Competition on “DEATH PENALTY FOR and AGAINST”. The participant Students have been divided into two groups. A group of students justified their arguments with merits and demerits &defects of death penalty awarded by Court of Lawfor a person. More than 50 Sovereign States of the world have abolished death penalty but in India it is still in practice.  In this debate they said that “Practice of Death Penalty is the violation of the Article 21 (Right to Life and Personal Liberty) enshrined in the constitution of India and Gross violation of Human rights”. More than 36 students have taken part in the competition.
