To commemorate the birth anniversary of hockey legend Major Dhyan Chand, it is observed as National Sports Day across the country. Department of Physical Education, Canara College, Mangalore, in association with Sports Association celebrated national sports day on August 29, 2017 at college seminar hall. The chief guest of the programme Mr. Basti Purushotham Shenoy, Governing Council member CHS Association, spoke on the relevance of the day. In his speech he paid tribute to hockey legend Major Dhyan Chand. College Principal Dr. Malini K V presided over the function. Physical Director Mr. Avinash and sports association co convener Mrs. Dhanyashree were present on the occasion. Total 95 students participated in this program.
