Educational field visit to Kotekar Beeri and Ullal was conducted by Department of Botany on Saturday 02, September 2017 to Kotekar Beeri and Ullal Someshwar and nearby places for 39 students of I BZC Students. During thestudy field trip different types of freshwater algae, marine algae, fungi and bryophyte species as mentioned in the syllabus were collected. Professor and Head of the Department Dr.M.S.Joishi Kumble, Madhushree, Assistant Professor guided the students in Specimen collection. Lab Assistant Mr. Prashanth helped the students in collecting the specimen and samples. Students has documented and submitted the report during practical examination.
Students got knowledge about land and aquatic flora of Kotekar Beeri and Ullal.Outdoor biology teaching can introduce students to unfamiliar environments, which they may not otherwise see. This exposure could be the only opportunity they have to see a world which is remote from their everyday lives.
