To enrich the students with academic and technical excellence, Commerce Department organized a Model Bank Project Competition on September 23, 2017. It is a unique competition conducted exclusively for Final year B.Com. students. Each class is asked to make a model bank of their imagination and creativity. They were given a free hand to develop the project. Students participated in the competition with great zeal and enthusiasm. They developed new banking products, such as new type of ATMs, Passbook entry machines, cash depositor, lockers, new type of Loans, Deposits Etc. They virtually converted their classes into Banks. They spent money from their own pocket for infrastructure.
The event was judged by bank officials, Mr.Prashanth Vashisth, Branch Manager, State Bank of India, MG Road , Kodialbail Branch, Mangaluru, Mrs. Vijaya N. Shetty , Rtd. Asst. General Manager, Vijaya Bank , Ms. Ashwini Kamath, Clerk, South Indian Bank, Mangalore Branch, Mr. Shravan Kumar, Mangaluru. They appreciated the creativity of the students and uniqueness of the event. The first prize was bagged by III B.Com A and second prize by III B.Com G. Consolation prize was given to III B.Com G1 & III B.Com A1.
