A power seminar on “Employability Skills for the Future” was organised by Canara College in association with ICT Academy on September 11, 2018 in the college seminar hall for 78 M.Com students.
The resource persons for the seminar were Mr. P. Suresh,Dy. General Manager- Human Resources, Mangalore Chemicals & Fertilizers Ltd.,(Adventz Group) and Mr. Harish Kumar, CEO, Accolade Tech Solutions, Mangaluru.The resource persons explained the soft skills needed by the industry. They emphasized employability skills i.e. Leadership skills, Interpersonal Skills, Communication Skills, Critical Thinking Skills and complex problem solving skills, self management, team work, presentation Skills, Digital Skills. Mr. Harish Kumar highlighted the entrepreneurial skills required for the current generation.
Principal Dr. K.V. Malini presided over the function. Prof. Seema Prabhu S., co ordinator of the seminar welcomed the guests. Student Preethi compered the programme. Ms. Chandini Rao introduced the guests Ms. Poornima Chowdary rendered vote of thanks. Prof. Aparna Kamath, HOD of Post Graduate centre and Prof. Ashajyothi were present during the power seminar.
