With the objective of creating awareness about the importance of trees and encourage students to plant more of them, NSS unit of the college joined hands with Green Mangalore Project. “Green Mangalore Project – Planting of 10,000 Saplings” is initiated by Member of Legislative Assembly Mangalore South Constituency Sri D. Vedyavyasa Kamath in association with Karnataka Forest Department Mangalore, Sevanjali Charitable Trust, Civil Contractors Association.
The programme was inaugurated at Sanghanikethan at 1.00 pm on June 29, 2019. 38 NSS volunteers along with Ms. Vindya B.B., NSS Officer participated in this programme with zeal and energy.
The students were divided into 2 groups and were taken to Government High School Kapikad, Bejai and Jogi Mutt surroundings to plant saplings. Around 300 saplings were planted by the students in these surroundings.
