Department Of Computer Science, Canara College, Mangaluru in association with Mangalore University Computer Science Teachers’ Association (MUCSTA) organized A “One Day Workshop on CBCS in First Semester BCA, B.Sc. – Comp. Science, B.Com.-Comp. Application and BA- Data Processing, on July 05, 2019 at Smt. Rathna Bai Memorial Hall, Canara College, Mangaluru
The objective of the workshop was to discuss reformed structure and new syllabus framed in various Programmes introduced by Mangalore University from the academic year 2019-2020.
Dr. Manjaiah D.H, Professor & Chairman, Dept. of Comp Sc, Mangalore University and also Chairperson , BoS in B.C.A., C.Sc, C.A .& D.P. inaugurated the programme and in his introductory speech he said that students must be given the freedom to choose the subjects of their interest in the higher education rather than offering them the programmes with prescribed subjects. Dr. K.V. Malini, Principal, Canara College, Mangaluru presided over the programme.
Sri. Prakash, President of MUCSTA and Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science, Vivekananda College, Puttur welcomed the gathering. Sri. Vinayachandra, Secretary of MUCSTA and Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science, St. Philomina College, Puttur Secretary of MUCSTA delivered the vote of thanks. Mrs. Rajyalaxmi, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science compered the inaugural programme. The workshop was initiated by Mangalore University Computer Science Teachers’ Association (MUCSTA). All the staff members of Computer Science Department, Canara College enthusiastically involved in organizing the workshop.
Mrs. Jayabharathi K.P., H.O.D., Department of Computer Science, Canara College and the convener of the workshop explained the features and structures of CBCS system and also the revised curriculum structure and scheme of examinations in all the six semesters of BCA, B.Sc.- Comp. Science, B.Com.-Comp. Application and BA- Data Processing Programme.
Dr. Veerabadrappa, Associate Professor, Computer Science, University College, Mangaluru introduced the syllabus and Practical list of first semester B.Sc. Computer Science Course.
Sri. Ramachandra Adiga , Assistant Professor in Computer Scince , Dr. G. Shankar Govt. Women’s First Grade College & P.G. Study Centre, Ajjarakadu, Udupi. and Prof. Jayabharathi introduced the syllabus and Practical list of first semester B.C.A.
Mrs. Shailaja H., Assistant Professor, Govindadasa College, Surathkal introduced the syllabus and Practical list of first semester B.Com. Computer Application.
