Education with value is the cornerstone of today’s modern world as teachers are the architects of future. Moreover, there has been a paradigm shift in the role of a teacher who is today expected to play multifaceted roles from a teacher to a mentor and beyond. There has been a greater responsibility on the part of teaching fraternity because when you teach one child, you touch future generations forever. Therefore, persistence is the twin of excellence. One is a matter of quality, the other, a matter of time.
With this concern, the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of the College with its annual theme for the academic year 2019-20 “Changing with Times”, organized a Motivational Workshop on the theme “Professional Values, Ethics and Interpersonal Relationship in Work Quality and Service Delivery” for the Administrative and Support Staff of the College on Thursday, July 11, 2019 from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM at College Seminar Hall. Prof. Dr. Amitabh Anand, Asst. Professor and Head, Dept. of Business Administration, SKEMA Business School, France, was the workshop facilitator.
Prof. Amitabh Anand, during the session stated that Administrative Staff members are the face of the institution and therefore extending adequate hospitality is the core of any effective service delivery. Further, to usher quality at work, there is a strong need for evolving good interpersonal relationships. He appealed and advised to take special initiatives coupled with self-satisfaction and effectiveness in all the tasks performed related to the job. The non-teaching staff members are core to any institution and they must be the initiators of change. He also emphasized that employees must have sufficient knowledge of Labour Law.
The workshop seemed to be very interactive one as it gave an opportunity for them to share their work experience and also the challenges they face as a part of their job. It also paved a way for healthy discussions to work in the directions for quality work delivery with professional values.
The session strived to achieve the core values of fostering global competency, inculcate a sense of value system and eliciting quest for excellence amongst the participating faculty members.
Mr. Hardik P. Chauhan, IQAC Coordinator, delivered the welcome address and also introduced the workshop facilitator to the gathering. Dr. K. V. Malini, Principal and Chairman of the IQAC delivered the presidential address. Dr. Ganesh Shetty U., Secretary of Staff Welfare Association proposed the vote of thanks. Mrs. Dhanyashree, Faculty, Dept. of Business Administration, compered the formal programme. Altogether 18 staff members participated in the workshop.
