The Environmental day is celebrated to raise global awareness about the significance of a healthy environment and to solve various environmental issues by implementing some actions to protect nature and Earth, leading to a positive and healthy environment for all. World Environment Day is an occasion to think how we are a part of nature and how intimately and unequivocally we depend on it for survival. ‘Beat Air Pollution’, the theme for World Environment Day 2019.
The NSS unit of our college took part in Jatha organized by Karnataka State Pollution Control Board, Mangaluru in association with District Administration, South Kanara, the Mangalore City Corporation, Forest Department, Dakshina Kannada District, Mangaluru Smart City Limited, NSS Units, Mangalore University and Bharath Scouts and Guides celebrated World Environment Day 2019 on July 12, 2019 at TMA Pai Convention Centre, Mangaluru.
89 NSS Volunteers actively participated in this rally from Nehru Maidan to TMA Pai Convention Centre ,Mangaluru which was followed by award ceremony. Dedicated environmentalist Padmashri Saalumarada Thimmakka, and Sri Yekagamyaananda Swamiji were felicitated in recognition of their invaluable contributions, in the field of environmental protection and empowerment.
