The Center for Women and Gender Studies had organized a workshop on “Know your Rights” by Ms. Richa Chada, Trainer, Josh Talks, ITC Vivel with #absamjothanahin#. The workshop was conducted in three different sessions on on July 15-16, 2019, in the Seminar Hall of the college. Ms. Richa Chada, acquainted the students with the women rights and acts, amendments regarding the same. Students were also given information about the different ways of sexual harassment that can occur in many different social settings such as the home, school, work place etc. Harassers or victims may be of any gender. She explained provisions of law to take legal action against such offense. The resource person also explained the concept of sexual harassment with various real life cases like Mathura case, Vishaka Case, Nirbhaya case and the landmark judgment passed by the Supreme Court in these cases. The students were also given information about the cyber crimes that can take place in the social media. Around 500 students from B.Com, B.B.A and B.Sc participated in the workshop.
Awareness was created on different women rights in the society and the students were made to understand the need to safeguard their privacy and maintain internet safety standards.
