The department of Chemistry organized a model making activity for I year BSc students from July 20 to July 31, 2019. The models selected was based on the topics from their I semester syllabus. Students prepared models innovatively using different materials like balls, clay, binding wires, sticks, pencils etc. They were successful in learning and designing models of crystal systems like Tetragonal structure, Hexagonal structure, Triclinic, Orthorhombic, Rhombohedral etc. Students were successful in showing the axis, angles and planes present in these structures. This activity helped them to understand and study the structures and bonding in different crystals of solids.
