Department of Commerce conducted a Guest Lecture on Entrepreneurial Skills on July 29, 2019. The program aimed at helping budding entrepreneurs put their thoughts into practice, bringing about an attitude change and enhancing their entrepreneurial abilities.
The resource person, Mr. Mithun Bhat Kakunje, Proprietor, Kakunje Group of Industries, stressed on the opportunities in entrepreneurship, the availability of resource, and identifying the right people. He shared his story of becoming a successful entrepreneur.
The guest lecture gave valuable information about an entrepreneur’s role, the characteristics of a successful entrepreneur and an entrepreneur’s qualities, entrepreneurial abilities, and the road map ahead.He said many young people are confronted with uncertainty and hopelessness despite the glitter and glamour of technology and wealth. Stressing on dignity and labour, he asserted that entrepreneurship can offer an alternative future for the youths and bring concrete possibility of social and economic empowerment to the youth and adults of tomorrow.
In this highly interactive session 98 B.Com students took part and gained insight into the relevance of a good business plan/ framework prior to starting a business .
