An orientation programme for I M.Com. students was organised on August 1, 2019 in the seminar hall of the college at 9:40 A.M. The programme was conducted with the objective of acquainting the students with the rich history and culture of Canara group of Institutions and also to introduce them to the opportunities available for their overall personality development.
The chief guest for the programme was Sri Basti Purushotham Shenoy, member of the managing Committee, CHS Association, Mangalore.
The programme began with a prayer by Ms. Rakshitha of II M.Com.Ms. Sahana of II M.Com introduced the chief guest and welcomed the gathering.
Head of Department Mrs Aparna Kamath, welcomed the eighth batch of M.Com. students & advised them to make the best use of the opportunities provided in this institution. She stressed on the need for the students to be armed with additional skills along with their post graduate degree to be able to step into the corporate world.
The chief guest spoke of Canara culture of respecting the teachers & treating staff & students of Canara as a family. He also spoke about the importance of the knowledge of current affairs in the present competitive world.
The Principal-in- charge Dr. Premalatha V delivered the presidential address and conveyed her best wishes to the students.
Ms. Pratheeksha delivered the vote of thanks. Ms. Dhanya Shetty was the Master of Ceremony.
