“Literature is a medium that enriches life and alleviates any stumbling blocks of life. Adoption of progressive ideas in life and psychological well-being can be found in the knowledge of literature. Natural themes can be adapted from the society around us for a variety of literary genres. It is our imperative to pay attention to the young generation who are dealing with today’s stressful life. Today, literature has the power to cope with life without getting lost in the clutches of technology, because literature is the mirror for our lives.” said, the retired Principal of Belman College, a well-known author and critic, Dr. B. Janardhan Bhat as a keynote speaker at a workshop on literacy and writing skills organized by the Literary Association of Canara College on September 25,2019.
Dr.K.V.Malini, the Principal of Canara college, in her presidential address said “Most of the students are disinterested in the reading and writing habits of today’s messy modern lifestyle. A poet once said that even a uplifting a small finger for Kannada language is like carrying the Govardhana giri. The students should develop a hobby of writing and reading literature in their student life”
Nandalike Balachandra Rao, Honorary President of Mudanna Sahithya was present at the event. The convener of the Literary Association, Dr. Shantala Vishwas, Mrs. Tara Kumari, Mrs. Ritika Das, Mrs. Sujata Nayak helped coordinate the event. Rama Bhat welcomed the guests and introduced them. Puneet D delivered the vote of thanks. The event was hosted by Kavashree.
Around 95 students attended the program and were benefited with the knowledge of improved writing and reading skills.
