To establish a framework for collaboration between Canara College and the Kanara Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mangaluru and to enhance the quality of education and boost up the capacity of students to face the current challenges, a Memorandum of understanding was signed between the parties in the presence of the President and members of KCCI and the Principal, convenors of Placement, Career Guidance and Entrepreneurship Development Cell, on November 16, 2019 at college seminar hall.
Addressing the gathering Dr.K.V.Malini, Principal, Canara College, said that mere degree certificate is not an indicator to get a job in the job market. Instead imbibing precise competitive commercial and industrial skills in addition to degree would fetch a bright future to the educated youth. In this context this MoU between Kanara Chamber of commerce and Industry and Canara College is a mile stone in the history of the College.
Mr. Isaac Vas, President, KCCI said the fusion of two different cultures of an educational institution and KCCI certainly contributes to the community development and the National development as well. In this juncture the connectivity with the Canara College, a reputed educational institution of Mangalore city is a great pride for KCCI.
M. VamanKamath, Alternate Treasurer, C.H.S. Association, in his presidential address expressed his best wishes for the joint efforts of Canara College and KCCI in scaling up the standards of students.
Joint Secretary, Sri. Kochikar Divakar Pai, Chair person Industry-Academia Relationship CA Salome, Director Mohammed Muddasar, Chair person Women Entrepreneurship of KCCI, faculty members, media persons, and students of Canara College were present during the MoU exchange programme.
Head of Business Administration Dept and the Convener of Career Guidance, Placement and ED Cell Smt. Pushpaltha welcomed the guests and invitees, Smt. Ashajyothi, co-convener proposed the vote of thanks. Smt. Laxshmi Hegde compered the programme, Student coordinator Mr. Vaishno Prasad assisted in organizing the programme.
