Founder’s Day 2019 with its theme for the occasion “Honoring the Legend : Our Reflections and Aspirations” was celebrated by the College on Tuesday, November 19, 2019 at 9:30 AM in the College Campus and Seminar Hall. The celebration began with offering floral tributes to our Founder. This was followed by unfurling the College Flag by the Chief Guest and thereafter the common gathering.
Our proud alumnus Mr. Rakshith Joseph Dsilva, Executive, Quality Assurance Department, BASF India Ltd., Mangaluru was the Chief Guest. Sharing his thoughts on the theme of the occasion “Honoring the Legnd : Our Reflections and Aspirations” he said “For me and for all of us – it is an invariably the most important day in the Institute’s calendar; a day when we remember our Founder, his illustrious legacy and his vision that lead to the founding of this great Canara Institutions. ”Quoting reflections from the life episodes of Late Sri Ammembal Subba Rao Pai, he urged that we must aspire to inherit the exemplary qualities for which our Founder is ever known for and thereby make our lives even more meaningful. Calling upon the young minds, he said “There’s nothing which can substitute hard work. Moreover, this is the time when you make or unmake your lives. Hence always surround yourselves with good friends. One good friend is equal to a library. Instead of monetary pleasures Humanity and service should be the key priority.”
Mr. Mohammad Rafik S., President, Parent-Teachers’ Association was the Guest of Honor. Addressing on the occasion he said “Canara Institutions have grown like a huge tree and tall in its statures which has been nututring the potential knowledge seekers and providing shelter to those serving in this noble institutions.” Expressing his salutations to the Founder, he elucidated that “Respect and obedience to elders, passion with dedication to work and service, timely sacrifice, dream to accomplish are the keys that can unlock the door of success. Canara has made an impeccable mark in its mission by shaping the lives of innumerable individuals. The institute has always strived to carry forward the legacy of a great visionary and the Founder Sri Subba Rao.”
Dr. K. V. Malini, Principal, delivering her presidential address said “Founder’s Day is a momentous and joyous occasion that we celebrate because each year is yet another milestone in the illustrious history of our Institute and a testimony to the glorious existence of Canara edifice.It is a time to honor our history, celebrate our present and contemplate the bright future. As Canarites, let us all reaffirm our commitment to service and grow tall in virtues. May our lives reflect the values and philosophies of this great noble soul. Let the remarkable history and legacy of our Founder inspire us to inspire others…!”
Ms. Bindiya Shet, President, Student Welfare Council welcomed the guests and gathering. Mr. Hardik P. Chauhan, Faculty, Dept. of Business Administration and IQAC Coordinator, gave more insights on the significance of the day and Saga of the Founder. Mrs. Rekha Devi K., Librarian further geared up by sharing the milestones of the Institute over the years. Mrs. Prathima V. Baliga, Dr. Prashanth and Ms. Megha Kamat, Student Welfare Mentors too were present during the occasion. Mr. Bhadresh R. Mallya, Member of Student Welfare Council proposed the vote of thanks. Ms. Shifali, Student, II M. Com., compered the programme. The occasion concluded with the National Anthem.
