The department of Botany organized a study tour for III BZC students to Dandeli reserve forest, Dandakarunya eco-park, Kali River, on February 1st and 2nd , 2020. The aim of the tour was to observe living wild life fauna and flora. 40 students accompanied by two teaching faculties Ms. Madhushree, Mr. Manohara.A and one non-teaching staff. The tour team left on January 31, 2020, at 8.00 P.M., sharp from the college campus & proceeded towards Dandeli. The major objective was to familiarize the students with the flora and ecology of the region. First day, students were taken to Kali River and Dandakarunya eco-park. During the study tour students were able to observe a variety of plants belonging to different plant groups. The students were motivated which developed an interest in them to learn through experience. During the course of the tour they collected wild plant specimen and captured images of the rare plants. To name a few plant species noted were Alianthusexceisa, Artocarpus lakoocha, Caryotaurens, Clarodendruminereme, Guazumaulmifolia, Polyalthia longifolia, Rauvolfiatetraphylla, Tectona grandis, Terminalia paniculata etc.,
Second day, students made a visit to Reserve forest in Dandeli where the students enjoyed a lot, they had very good time observing the live specimen, enquiring their unresolved queries about the mother natures & various wild fauna and flora. The overall result of the tour was development of a positive impact regarding vast diversified flora of the region. The team reached at 7.00pm on February 02, 2020 at the college campus.
