In the wake of Coronavirus outbreak and global panic, an awareness programme was conducted on Corona Virus Disease prevention on March 11, 2020 to help educate the NSS Volunteers about the COVID -19, the global outbreak and steps to prevent it.
Dr. Laxmi K. Mallya of Srinivas Medical College, Mukka, Mangaluru Conducted the session for the students and explained about the virus, its etiology, global outbreak patterns and prevention. Dr. Laxmi helped the participants understand the real situation and differentiate between the real and fake news regarding COVID -19.
She also taught the students safe hand washing techniques to help prevent the spread of the virus. Dr. Mallya clearly explained the ways to improve our immunity of body and food style which could prevent from viral infections. All 88 NSS Volunteers and faculty members participated in the programme got exposure about the corona virus, and cleared their entire doubts by interacting with the resource person.
