Canara College, Mangaluru signed an MoU with Karavali Wikimedians, Mangaluru, Karnataka, an independent, non-profit organization. This group mainly works on Kannada, Tulu and Konkani language Wikipedias and other Wikimedia projects. It is dedicated to work for the Wikimedia (Free Knowledge) movement in the Indian Languages used in coastal Karnataka and northern part of Kerala State of India. Prior to the signing process Dr. Vishwanatha Badikana, President Karavali Wikimedians, Mangaluru, gave insights into the the uses and opportunities of the group.
Dr. K. V Malini Principal, Canara College and Dr. Vishwanatha Badikana, President Karavali Wikimedians, Mangaluru signed the memorandum and the MoU was exchanged between both the parties. The process was witnessed by the Dr. Kishore Kumar Rai, Treasurer, Karavali Wikimedians, Mangaluru, Mrs. Kavitha, Member, Karavali Wikimedians, Mangaluru, Mrs.Jayabharathi K.P., Head, the Department of Computer Science and staff.
