National Webinar on “Banking –The Battle For Customer”

Department of Commerce, Canara College Mangaluru, organized a One day National Webinar on “Banking –The Battle For Customer” through Google Meet platform and YouTube Live Streaming on June 07, 2021. Session was facilitated by Dr K. Rajesh Nayak, Director- Training, College of Banking and Financial Studies (CBFS), Oman.

CA.M. Vaman Kamath, Treasurer, C.H.S Association, Mangaluru was the Guest of Honour at the occasion. He explained how the banking industry transformed into Technology driven service industry in the last two decades. He also explained as to how the Innovative products and technology helped in providing better customer service ensuring convenience, transparency, accuracy and speed in the banking transactions. Mrs. Dejamma A, Head, Department of Commerce, delivered welcome address and also explained the objective of the webinar.

Dr K. Rajesh Nayak, Resource person, began his session with the history, evolution and growth of the banking sector in India. In his presentation, he explained how the needs of the target customers should be identified and satisfied by the bankers using 7P’s of marketing mix. He also explained the concept of fintech and data analytics in the field of banking industry. At the end of his presentation, he conducted quiz to the participants through Kahoot platform. All participants actively participated in the quiz and first three performers namely Mansi, Neha Nayak and Deeksha S. were recognised by giving e- certificate.

Finally there was a Q&A session wherein participants put forward their queries and each of their queries was extensively deliberated upon.

In the concluding note Dr.Premalatha V, Principal, Canara College delivered closing remarks. Feedback link was provided to all the participants and e-certificates were issued on the submission of feedback form. The webinar concluded with vote of thanks delivered by MrsSmitha M, Faculty Co-ordinator and Master of ceremony for this webinar was Mrs.Lavina S. Noronha, Faculty Co-ordinator.
