Sanskrit and German – the Linguistic Affinity

The Chief Guest, Prof. Madhusoodan Penna, Honorary D. Lit, Kavikulaguru Kalidas Sanskrit University, Ramtek, Maharashtra, introduced the similarities between Sanskrit and the German language in a virtual national webinar on the topic “Sanskrit and German – the linguistic affinity”. He showed that Sanskrit and German are the inflected languages and showcased the similarities along with the examples. He added that these languages need not only be studied in literature, but can also be used as spoken languages. The presidential address was given by CA. Vaman Kamath, Treasurer, Canara High School Association, where he acknowledged that one could find treasures hidden in Sanskrit language. Dr. Premalatha V, Principal of Canara College, introduced the guests. Dr. Shantala Vishwas, Head, Department of Sanskrit, delivered the introductory speech. Mrs. Dejamma, IQAC Coordinator, and HOD of Commerce; and Mr. Hardik P. Chauhan, the IQAC Coordinator were present in the program. Kum. Vaishnavi delivered the vote of thanks. Kum. Dhruthi was the master of ceremony. Kum. Anusha Shet rendered the prayer. More than 170 members were benefitted by this program.
