All the students of II BZC took the initiative to prepare the vermicompost under the guidance and leadership of Mrs. Sushama, H.O.D and Mrs. Pushpanjali S, Assistant professor. Preparation of vermicompost was started on September 20, 2021 by collection of waste materials from the College Botanical Garden. On the first day, in the pot students prepared the bed using coconut fibre and then added biodegradable materials such as dry leaves, paper etc for processing. Waste materials were then mixed with cow dung slurry and left for primary and secondary decomposition. Vermicompost was produced within 30 days. Altogether 34 students participated.
