The students from Kannada medium overcome their inferiority complex. In the present world, new ideas and new thinking is a must to meet the challenges of the changing society. We have to accept and adapt ourselves to the New Educational Policy introduced by Mangaluru University in the academic year 2021-22 .The Presidential address was given by CA M .Vaman Kamath, Treasurer, Canara High School Association.
Department of Kannada organised a one day workshop on ‘Rashtreeya shikshna Neethi Mattu Kannada: Anushstana – Avakasha in association with ‘VIKASA’, on September 27, 2021 under the initiative of Internal Quality Assurance Cell.
Dr. Jenifer Lolita, Joint Director of Collegiate Education, Regional Office, Mangaluru, inaugurated the Workshop. In her speech, she said, “With the introduction of NEP, the Government of Karnataka has proved as a model for other states to emulate. This trend makes me really happy.” Dr. Jayakara Bhandary, Special Officer of Collegiate Education Regional Office Mangalore, was the resource person. He provided information on the formulation of the National Education Policy, and the opportunities it opened up for Kannada.
Prof. Krishnamoorthy, President of VIKASA, in his introductory speech said, “The implementation of Kannada language as compulsory paper under NEP has increased the responsibility of the present teaching community”. The Principal, Dr. Premalatha V., welcomed the gathering. Mrs. Vani U.S., Head of the Department of Kannada, rendered the vote of thanks. Mrs Shailaja P., Lecturer in Kannada, compered the programme.
In the second session, the teachers of various colleges discussed about the opportunities, challenges and implementation of kannada language as a compulsory subject under NEP. Dr. H. G. Shridhar, Head of the Department of Kannada, Vivekananda College, Puttur and Dr .Madhava M. K., Assistant Prof. of Kannada, University College, Mangaluru expressed their valuable opinion about NEP. Dr. Yogish Kairody, Secretary of VIKASA, compered the session. 55 teachers of various colleges affiliated to Mangalore University benefited from this workshop.Report By,
