The student welfare association organized “National Youth day” celebrations on account of Sri Vivekananda Jayanthi. The guest for the function was Sri. Lakshmish Hegde Sonda , a well known historian and orator. The progamme started with a prayer followed by the welcome and introduction of the guest by Mr. Manish, Joint secretary. All the dignitaries on the dais offered flowers to Sri.Vivekananda’s idol. Mr. Deepak Hegde spoke about the significance of the day and said that all the youngsters should consider swami Vivekananda as their role model and take inspiration from his ideas of social service and character building. The chief guest of the day Sri. Lakshmish Hegde Sonda in his speech said youth should adopt the mantra of Sri Vivekananda which says “Until you can trust, you cannot trust god”. If we are not able to see god in other humans and ourselves, then where can we find divinity. He said that swami Vivekananda was a practical man who believed that the service to mankind should be selfless as service to mankind was service to god. He dedicated his life to teaching and building the youth, the importance of social service and laying the groundwork of character and leader attributes.
Mrs. Dejamma, in-charge Principal in her presidential address said that Vivekananda‘s activist ideology breeds a sense of confidence among Indians. She called out all the students to imbibe the principles of swami Vivekananda to lead a better and successful life.
Ms. Aparna Shenoy proposed the vote of thanks. Total of – students witnessed this programme .
