The guest lecture on “Vedic Mathematics” was organized by the Department of Mathematics on March 07, 2022 in Room no: 01 for BSc students. The goal of the program was to teach the students how to use simple techniques to execute arithmetic operations quickly and more efficiently. The guest speaker Dr. Mahesh K.B, Assistant professor of GFGC Carstreet, Mangalore, explained easy techniques for numerical problems which helps the students to clear competitive exams. Presentation made by the guest speaker was interactive, informative and easy to learn Mathematics for the students. 60 students of final B.Sc actively participated in the program.
Mrs. Keerthi Alva, Head of the department, Mathematics welcomed the gathering. Mrs. Poornima, faculty convenor, proposed the vote of thanks. This program was an opportunity to participate and learn new things related to Mathematics. It helped students increase speed and accuracy and gave them an idea to become a mental calculator themselves. Students enjoyed the session and gave a good feedback.
This program provided strong foundation for basic Mathematics and helped them to get rid of math phobia. This activity strived to achieve core values of fostering global values, eliciting quest for excellence amongst the student beneficiaries.
