Rangoli design is a beautiful and an expressive art. Traditionally Rangoli designs are made during auspicious occasions, also to express views on social issues and as a public art. On the eve of Annual Day Celebration Rangoli competition was organized by the Fine Arts association on June 3, 2022 at the college premises. Two participants made a team, 40 teams participated in the competition. The rules were informed to the students. According to the rules only dot rangoli using colour powder was allowed. Each team decided its own theme for the rangoli making.
The judges of this competition were Mrs. Geetha G., Teacher at NITK and Mrs Parimala Mahesh an advocate. The criteria for the judgment were design, neatness, colour combination and creativity. Mr. C. Suraj Bhat and Mr. Sandeep from II BCA won first place, Nisarg from I B.Com and Manish from I BBA won second place and Sheethal Pai from II BSC and Raksha H Shet from II B.Com won third place in this competition. The interest of all the participants was well appreciated by the judges.
The competition resulted in overall recreation after a hectic and monotonous college routine work. A creative side of students was also seen. Mrs Jayashree Shetty, Convener of the association, Mrs Kavitha Ganesh Coordinator of the activity, Mr. Manohar Acharya, Mrs Soujanya D. and Ms Meghana Ramesh Co-convenors coordinated the activity.This activity strived to achieve the core values of quest for excellence, inculcating value system and fostering global competency.
