Union Day and College Day Celebration 2022

Canara College celebrated its Annual Day on June 11, 2022.

Union day was celebrated in the morning with Shri. CA Nagabhushan Pai, FCA, DISA, as the Chief Guest who unfurled the College Flag with all gratefulness to his Alma mater and cherishing the illustrious vision of our great Founder Late Sri. Ammembal Subba Rao Pai. During his address, he gave a call to the students to set their goals in their student days and work towards reaching their goal through hard work and dedication. The Chief Guest, Shri. CA Nagabhushan Pai, and Shri. K Shivananda Shenoy, Manager, Canara College honored the prize winners. Shri. CA M. Jagannath Kamath, Correspondent, Canara College presided over the function. Dr. Premalatha. V, Principal, Canara College, Mrs. Anila, Principal, Canara Evening College and Student Welfare Mentors, Mrs. Sushma R Shetty, Ms. Madhushree and Mrs. SwathiNayak were also present.

Mr. Shrihari, President of Students’ Council welcomed the gathering. Mr. Deepak Hegde, Secretary, Students’ Council presented a report of the activities of Students’ Welfare Council for the year 2021-22. Ms. AparnaShenoy, Vice president of Students’ Council, proposed the vote of thanks. Ashwini Hegde of III B. Com compered the program.

College Day celebrations were held in the evening with Shri CA M. Jagannath Kamath, Correspondent, Canara college as the Chief Guest. Mrs. N. Suchetha Kamath honored the prize winners. Shri M. Ranganath Bhat, Hon. Secretary, C.H.S Association, presided over the function. The annual report of the college showcasing the activities of the institution over the last one year was presented by the principal, Dr. Premalatha. V. Ms. Poojashree, X Rank holder in BBA 2021 was honored and she proposed the toast.

Mrs. Sushma R Shetty, Student Welfare Mentor welcomed the gathering. Ms. Madhushree, Student Welfare Mentor, proposed the vote of thanks. Mrs. Rashmi Shetty, Lecturer, Department of Commerce compered the program. Ms. Anila, Principal, Canara Evening College; Shri. K Shivananda Shenoy, Manager, Canara College and other members of the Governing Council were also present.

The stage was then set for a variety of entertainment programs by the students, as they displayed their talent in front of a vibrant and enthusiastic audience. The cultural evening began with a Bharatanatyam Dance performance. The activities performed on the occasion included various forms of dance and skit, musical performances and Yakshagana. The audience comprising students, faculty, parents, and alumni enjoyed the program with great zeal. All together 500 students participated in the program.
