“AGNIPATH – a revolutionary concept of the Central Government. This scheme of the Government is an effective system to eliminate the problem of unemployment. The scheme is called AGNIPATH and the youth selected under this scheme will be known as Agniveers. AGNIPATH allows patriotic and motivated youth to serve in the Armed Forces for a period of four years. This is a good opportunity for the youth who have a dream to do national service and need a job. It is time to utilize this opportunity. So, everyone make use of this scheme.” Said Col. Nitteguthu Sharath Bhandary, Veteran and President of Alumni Association of University College, Mangaluru.
He was the resource person in the Awareness Programme on “Agniveer” organized by NSS units of Canara College in collaboration with Kadri Lions and Leo Club, and provided career guidance and useful information about this important scheme of the government. 151 NSS Volunteers attended this programme and got motivated to serve the nation.
Lion Prashant Pai, member of Kadri Lions Club, gave the introductory remarks. President of Kadri Lions Club Lion Sumitra Shetty, Lion Sridhar, Lion Ashok Kamath, Lion Vijay Shetty, Lion Rajeshwari Shetty Lion Pallavi Pai were present.
NSS Programme Officer Mrs. Seema Prabhu S welcomed the august gathering and Mrs Vani U S proposed the vote of thanks. NSS volunteer Mr Parashurama compered the programme.
