On account of the birth anniversary of Padmashree Dr. S. R. Ranganathan, the father of Library Science in India, the Library and Information Centre and Library Readers Club of Canara College, with the support of Library Advisory Committee, organized a Book Review Competition for all the students of the college. The competition was organized in the Library Reading Room. Judges were our own faculties Mrs. Sujatha Nayak, Mrs.Keerthana Bhat, Mrs. Shailaja Pudukoli, Canara College, Mangalore and Mr. Raghu Idkidu, writer and lecturer, Canara Pre-University College. Certificates and books were awarded to the first and second prize winners. Altogether 24 students participated in this programme.
Members of Readers Club took active part in organizing this competition. The winners were Ms. Shashikala R., III B. Com A – I place, Ms. Madhura Shetty, III B.Com. B, and Ms. Roja A. III B.Com.A. – II place.
