Canara College, in association with M. R. Pai Foundation and Forum for Free Enterprise, organized a two-day leadership camp for the UG and PG students on 5th and 6th August, 2022. The leadership training camp was inaugurated by Mrs. Vathika Pai, Proprietor, Vathika International Travels. She spoke about the need for expanding leadership and communication skills among students. She said that “If everyone is moving forward in their life, then success will definitely follow.” The trainers for the session from MR Pai Foundation and Forum for Free Enterprise, Mr. Sachin Kamath and Mrs. Clarissa Jathanna were also present. Mr. M. Ranganath Bhat, Hon. Secretary, C.H.S. Association, said that leadership skills make students more confident and they never hesitate in accepting challenges of life. Mr. CA M. Jagannath Kamath, Correspondent of Canara College, in his presidential address said that students should make use of such training camps to learn how to communicate effectively and improve their leadership skills. Mrs. Sushma R. Shetty, Student Welfare Mentor welcomed the guest and the gathering; Ms. Madhushree, Student Welfare Mentor, proposed the vote of thanks.
The training consisted of various activities and interactive sessions and helped the students to boost their confidence, improving leadership skills and ability to communicate better. Students from Besant Women’s College, Sri Gokarnanatha College, and Ramakrishna College had also participated in this training camp. The camp ended with the Valedictory programme where the participants shared their feedback regarding the training session. Total 86 students participated in this two-day leadership camp.
