Women’s Empowerment Cell organized a program entitled “Awareness on cervical carcinoma”, a talk by Dr.Johan Sunny, Assistant Professor, Department of Radiation Oncology, Attavar, Mangalore onAugust 17,2022, held at Room No 10.
The program started with a prayer and Mrs. Sushama welcomed the gathering. Mrs. Rajyalaxmi introduced the guest. The Principal, Dr. V.Premlatha, the resource person Dr. Johan Sunny, Staff Convenors Mrs. Rajyalaxmi C H and Mrs. NishvithShettyalong with the students participated in the program.
Dr. Johan Sunny gave an informative talk on the topic Awareness on cervical cancer. Heemphasized that women should periodically undergo a few diagnostic teststo rule out the onset of cancerif they notice any symptoms, to avoid advancement of the disease. He also gave suggestions, to get vaccinated at the prescribed age to prevent carcinoma in ladies, and to maintain hygiene. He also suggested Pap Smear test, a simple and cost-effective technique for early diagnosis of cervical cancer. Altogether 29 students attended this program. The program concluded with few student’s feedback and vote of thanks by Mrs. Nishvitha Shetty.
