Miniature- A Model Exhibit Competition is a model making cum exhibition was organized by the Department of Zoology for the first year NEP students on August 16 and 19, 2022 at Zoology museum as a part of the curriculum under the guidance of Mrs. Sushama C, Head of the Department and Mrs. Pushpanjali S, Assistant Professor in Zoology.
Students were given an opportunity to build models on the topics of Biochemistry and Physiology. Students submitted static models along with the write- up on August 16, 2022. The students used array of materials to make the models. 19 students participated in this competition. The submitted models were exhibited on August 19, 2022 in the Zoology laboratory.
The models were judged by an external judge Mrs. Roopashri K.P, Assistant Professor in Chemistry and internal judge Mrs. Pushpanjali S on August 19, 2022. The evaluation criteria included relevance to the topic, material used, portability and durability of the miniature, write- up and aesthetic appeal.
The first prize was bagged by Ms. Kshama Kunder for the model on Nephron Structure and the second prize was bagged by Ms. Shravyashree U for the model on Trachea Structure.
The competition strives to balance work with play and make academics fun and interesting for students. This activity strived to achieve the core values such as contribution to national development, promoting the use of technology and quest for excellence amongst the participants.
