Rashtriya Ekta Diwas – National Unity Day 2022 in commemoration of the 147th birth anniversary of Sri Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel was celebrated by the institute, on Monday, October 31, 2022 at 3:30 PM in the College Seminar Hall.

Col. Nitteguthu Sharath Bhandary, Mentor, Dakshina Kannada Ex-Servicemen Association, Mangaluru, was the Chief Guest. In his message, he said “Today is the day we all commemorate the birth anniversary of a great legendary, Bharat Ratna Sri Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, who is rightly called as the Rashtra Rachaita (i.e. Unifier of the Nation), the epitome of India’s unity; a real fighter and a great politico-strategic visionary, who played a crucial role, after India’s Independence in the unification of 562 Indian Princely States into the Indian Union. This day spreads the message of unity and harmony. The pledge of unity symbolizes our spirit of oneness despite of our diversity in various ways. This day, therefore, will continue to remind us how much efforts Sri Sardar Patel put in to bring the different states of our country together. Furthermore, while citing some of the interesting real-life instances from Patel’s life, he brought out the distinct qualities of Patel viz., his love for motherland, simplicity, honesty, integrity, selfless dynamic leadership, pragmatic approach, earthly wisdom, and discipline will ever remain an inspiration for all of us. Sardar Patel is not just a historical figure but lives in the heart of every countryman”.

The Principal Dr. Premalatha V. administered the Pledge for Unity and presided over the programme. In her Presidential address she said “The celebration of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas is always an apt occasion to revisit the freedom movement and to understand and eliminate the threats to our national integrity and sovereignty. Patel was a selfless leaders, who always placed the country’s interests above everything else and shaped India’s destiny with single-minded devotion. He is a true symbol of unity. The invaluable contributions of Sri Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel in building a modern and unified India needs to be remembered by every Indian as the country marches ahead as one of the largest economies in the world. Unity is where the strength of any country lies and therefore, we should always continue to stay united and strong. As the responsible citizens of this great nation, let us all remain together to shine the light of unity on a brighter and more prosperous future for India”.

The IQAC Coordinators Mrs. Dejamma A. welcomed the guest and gathering. Mr. Hardik P. Chauhan, made the opening remarks and gave more insights on the significance of the day. The Student Welfare Mentor Ms. Madhushree proposed the vote of thanks. Ms. Akshatha Karanth, Student of II BBA rendered the prayer song. Ms. Meghna R. Hosdurg, Faculty, Dept. of Commerce and Management compered the programme. The occasion concluded with the singing of National Anthem. A total of 42 staff members and a few students participated in this programme.

The celebration ignited the spirit of nationalism while endeavoring to reaffirm our inner strength towards unity and created awareness about the need to remain united. The staff and students took the Pledge for Unity.

The programme strived to achieve the core values of contributing to the national development and inculcating a sense of value system amongst all.
