Certificate Programme on Banking, Finance and Insurance (CPBFI)

An orientation programme about the ‘Certificate Programme in Banking, Finance and Insurance’ was held on November 26, 2022. Ms. Archana Bhat, Senior Manager, CPBFI, addressed the gathering by explaining the basic concept and importance of CPBFI. Mr. Mithesh, Coordinator, CPBFI welcomed the gathering. 40 students actively participated in the programme.

Official training partner for the batch was Walchand Plus (Division of Walchand People first Limited). This course was of the duration of 120 Hours. This Course was organized by Department of Commerce and Management in collaboration with Bajaj Finserv Limited.

An online batch was formed of 40 students for 30 days of training, 3 hours a day. Curriculum based training including 24 hrs. of Insurance Management involving concepts of risk and uncertainty and need of insurance, product and process training on life and non-life products, underwriting and claims process, distribution channels and structure of an insurance company, overview of IRDA and the impact of technology on the insurance industry, 36 hrs. of advanced Communication Skills involving essential listening, speaking, reading and writing skills, negotiation, sales-oriented communication, objection handling, customer service, and persuasion and 12 hours of self-management training. Final section was of 24 hrs. involving banking operations, industry overview of banks, NBFCS and other Financial Institutions, product and process training, asset and liability products, KYC and underwriting, overview of the role of RBI, various roles and functions in a bank, compliance & ethics and the impact of technology on the banking industry.

Apart from this, the HR workshop was conducted at the end of the course which provided the students with a practical experience of the end-to-end recruitment process from selection of job advertisement to job interview.CPBFI has sharply focused on third-year graduates and was specifically designed to improve their employability by preparing them for entry-level jobs in the BFSI sector.The program featured distinguished industry experts who shared their extensive knowledge and experiences, providing our students with a comprehensive understanding of the certifications that can significantly boost their career prospects in these sectors.

17 students have completed the Course successfully.

The Course was coordinated by Mrs. Anasuya Bhagvath, Faculty, Department of Commerce and Management.

This Course aimed at fostering global competencies among students.
