Centre for Post Graduate Studies in Commerce conducted an orientation program for the students of the First Year MCom on November 28, 2022 at the College Seminar Hall. The renowned actor, and alumnus of our college Mr. Mime Ramdas, was the chief guest of the program. In his inaugural address to the students, he highlighted the need to learn beyond the syllabus to build a career. The program was presided over by our Principal, Dr. Premalatha V. She advised the students to spend time on research activities and writing articles, which is essential at the master’s level. Mrs. Dejamma A, Head, Department of Commerce and Management, apprised the students to use the resources available in the college to the fullest extent possible.
The PG Coordinator, Mrs. Swathi Nayak, gave an insight into the department’s plans for the students during the academic year. Twenty newly admitted students took the oath during the program. Dr. Prashanth welcomed the gathering. Ms. Megha proposed the vote of Thanks.
A cultural program called “Arambh” was organized by the second-year M.Com students to welcome the first-year students at Sri Bhuvanendra Hall. Mrs. Laxmi Hegde, faculty and alumnus of the college, was the chief guest for the program. She urged the students to make the best use of the opportunities available during the academic year. 43 Students actively took part in various cultural and sports events.
The program aimed to uphold the fundamental principles, including fostering global competencies and human excellence among students and eliciting a quest for excellence.
