Our College Library collections, College publications, staff and students’ publication and Indian heritage books were exhibited under the title “JNAN SARVATRA.” The six-day book exhibition was organized by the Library and Information Centre, with the support of Library Advisory Committee and Readers Club, from November 28, 2022 to December 03, 2022 in the Library reading room.
Mr. Venkatesh Nayak, Alumnus, Canara College, and Research Student, Department of Economics, Mangaluru University, was the Chief Guest and Inaugurator of the programme. In his inaugural address, he explained the benefits of the exhibition and also highlighted the value of old books and the importance of its preservation. Dr. Premalatha V., Principal, Canara College presided over the programme.
Specific areas of books from our Library collections were focused to mark the Golden Jubilee of our college. All important special collections were set up on a platform. Nine divisions of books were chosen to be arranged in the form of ‘50’. Students from different schools and Pre-University Colleges, too, visited the exhibition. It was a happy hunting ground for those who were on the lookout for some particular book of their choice.
Members of Library Advisory Committee, Readers Club and Student Representatives enthusiastically took part in organizing this programme. 500 students benefitted from this exhibition.
