On the occasion of International Kite Day, the Centre for Post Graduate Studies in Commerce organized a commerce themed kite making competition for the students of Sri Ramakrishna College on January 13, 2023. The competition was organized with the aim of applying the theoretical knowledge gained in the classrooms to the creation of a creative commerce-themed kite.
The activity began with a stage program, shared by Sri M. Balakrishna Shetty, Principal of Sri Ramakrishna College, Mr. Natesh Alva, NSS Officer, Sri Ramakrishna College, Mrs. Swathi Nayak, PG Coordinator, Canara College, and Dr. Prashanth Bhat and Mrs. Megha, faculties of the PG Department of Canara College. Dr. Prashanth Bhat briefed the students about the need of such competition and the innovative ideas contributed from the PG Department of Canara College to bridge the gap between industry and the students. The kites prepared by the students highlighted commerce concepts and were presented to the judges, followed by kite flying.
The judging of the competition was based on the presentations and the theme-based knowledge of the students. Twelve teams with three participants each from Sri Ramakrishna College took part in the competition. Six students volunteered for this activity. Mrs. Megha, faculty PG department coordinated this programme.
