Team building is an essential part of management and teamwork teaches the relevance of communication and social skills, such as active listening and effective speaking among students. Students learn how to listen to their leaders in order to perform their individual roles when working as a team. Students learn to listen to one another so that they can work as a cohesive unit. Teamwork teaches students how to express their ideas and opinions in a group setting in a respectful and confident manner. Keeping this in mind, the Youth Red Cross unit of our college organized an activity on leadership on January 18, 2023.
Mr. Arjun Prakash, Assistant Professor in Commerce, St. Aloysius College (Autonomous), Mangaluru was the Resource Person. Initially, he divided students into groups and asked each group to come forward and disclose their role model with the reason to select them and then activity was conducted on leadership in a group. Students participated enthusiastically and enjoyed a lot. They learned about leadership, creative thinking, decision-making, coordination and team management.
Total of 52 YRC volunteers participated in this activity. The activity was coordinated under the Youth Red Cross Programme Officers Mrs. Smitha M. and Mrs. Roopaashri K. P. This activity contributed to national development, fostered global competencies, inculcated value system among the students and fostered quest for excellence.
