Training on “Survey of Youth not in Formal Education or Regular Employment”

March 28, 2023

The young population aged 15 to 29 represents an important group with great potential to contribute to the economy and society. However, many young people are not in formal education or regular employment, which puts them at risk of being marginalized and vulnerable.

To address this issue, the National Service Scheme units of Canara College, Mangaluru, organized a training program on “Survey of Youth not in Formal Education or Regular Employment” on March 28, 2023. Mrs. Seema Prabhu S., the Master Trainer, trained 102 NSS Volunteers on how to conduct the survey. She taught them about the survey schedule and how to communicate and collect data from the young people. After the training, the volunteers collected the data, and the filled questionnaires were submitted to the State NSS Cell.

This program aimed to achieve contributing to national development by understanding and addressing the challenges faced by young people who are not in formal education or regular employment.
