In order to promote innovation and creativity among students, the Fine Arts Association organized a cooking competition without fire at Canara College premises on April 01, 2023, on the eve of the 50th Annual Day Celebration. Thirty-two teams, each consisting of two members from all streams, participated in the competition and presented a variety of delicious dishes and creative presentations.
The competition was judged by Mrs. Divya Kamath, a physiotherapist, and proprietor of Aruna Caterers in Mangalore, and Mrs. Gayathri Gajanan, an educator at Bharath Academy School in Mangalore. The event was evaluated based on criteria such as taste, creativity, and neatness.
Ms. Payal and Ms. Sameeksha Tharanath from II BCom B won the first place, Mr. Thejesh B M and Mr. Preeshith Y Suvarna from I BSc won the second place, and Ms. Shamika and Ms. Chaithanya from I BCA B won the third place in this event. All the participants were appreciated by the judges for their wonderful dishes.
The occasion was graced by the Principal, teaching and non-teaching staff, and the students. Mrs. Jayashree Shetty, Convener of the association, Mrs. Keerthi Alva, Mrs. Laxmi Hegde, Mrs. Soujanya D., and Mrs. Kavitha Ganesh, Co-convenors of the association, coordinated this activity.This activity aimed to achieve the core values of striving for excellence and fostering global competency
