The Department of Zoology organized an engaging 5-day subject-based online Zoology quiz competition for B.Sc. Zoology students from all three years. The competition took place from April 25, 2023, to April 28, 2023, and was efficiently coordinated by Mrs. Sushama C, the Head of the Zoology Department, along with Mrs. Pushpanjali S, Assistant Professor in Zoology. The event garnered a successful response, with a total of 53 enthusiastic student participants.
Throughout the competition, there were 5 rounds held on different days, each consisting of multiple-choice questions. The diverse topics of Zoology were covered in these rounds, providing a comprehensive learning experience for the participants.
Day 1 featured the “Animal Diversity” quiz, conducted between 9 pm and 10 pm.
Day 2 focused on “Wildlife Biology and Conservation,” held from 9 pm to 10 pm. This round encompassed questions on Indian wildlife and conservation strategies.
On Day 3, the quiz centred on “Economic Zoology” and took place between 9 pm and 10:15 pm. Topics such as dairy, poultry, apiculture, aquaculture, sericulture, and lac culture were covered.
Day 4 was dedicated to “Public Health and Infectious Disease,” conducted from 9 pm to 10 pm.
Finally, Day 5 showcased the “Scientists and Contributions” quiz, held from 9 pm to 10:15 pm. This round included questions on notable scientists and their significant contributions to the field of life sciences.
The quiz competition proved to be an informative and enjoyable event, encouraging students to expand their knowledge and passion for Zoology. Participants found the quiz to be an enriching experience, fostering a deeper understanding of various aspects of the subject.

The total duration of the five-day Online Zoology quiz was 5 hours 30 minutes. Each rounds test students subject knowledge, ability to think critically, recall information, and respond quickly.
