The Dakshina Kannada District Systematic Voter Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP), Mangaluru collaborated with Canara College Rovers and Rangers to organize a Jatha as part of their voter awareness campaign on May 8, 2023. The Jatha, which highlighted the importance of voting in the 2023 Karnataka Legislative Assembly election, was held in conjunction with Besant College Rovers and Rangers. Starting from Canara College, the Jatha covered Jail Road Karangalpady, Circle. The Jatha was led by a vehicle that played “Yakshagana songs” related to voting awareness. During the Jatha, students distributed flyers to vote on May 10 to auto rickshaw drivers, city bus travelers, shopkeepers and other civilians.
The Jatha was actively participated by 17 Canara College Rovers and Rangers and 6 Besant College Rovers and Rangers. The program was coordinated by RL Dhanashri D Kulkarni, Lecturer, Department of Commerce & Management, and RSL Pramod Kumar P S., Department of English, Canara College, Mangaluru.
