An Industrial Visit was organized by the Department of Commerce and Management on June 7, 2023, to Srichakra Containers Pvt. Ltd. and Navadurga Food Products Pvt. Ltd., Padubidri, a professionally managed organization with a world-class infrastructure, specialized in the manufacture of a wide range of Polypropylene (PP) and BOPP fabrics as well as woven bags. Srichakra Containers Pvt. Ltd. is located in KIADB Industrial Estate, Nandikur, Padubidri, Udupi District, Karnataka – 574 111.
During the industrial visit, the students made several observations and gained valuable insights, including:
a) Production Processes: Students witnessed the step-by-step manufacturing processes involved in producing BOPP fabrics as well as woven bags. They observed how raw materials were transformed into finished goods through automated machinery and skilled labor.
b) Quality Control: The visit highlighted the importance of stringent quality control measures in ensuring the company’s products meet industry standards. Students learned about quality testing techniques and saw how defects are identified and rectified.
c) Environmental Sustainability: The visit emphasized the company’s commitment to environmental sustainability. Students observed eco-friendly practices implemented by the company, such as waste management systems, energy-efficient technologies, and responsible resource consumption.
d) Career Opportunities: The industrial visit provided insights into potential career paths within the industry. Students learned about various job roles and the skills required to excel in the field. They also gained an understanding of the company’s recruitment and training processes.
35 students participated and benefitted from this visit.
