Embracing the theme, ‘Learning can be enjoyable and engaging when approached with curiosity, creativity, and a sense of adventure,’ the Centre for PG Studies in Commerce proudly organized the first-ever season of Can Boss 2k23. This exciting event aimed to provide Canara UG students with a platform to showcase their abilities and skills. A total of 32 enthusiastic contestants registered to participate in the game, where they were assigned challenging tasks and closely monitored by Can Boss.
The week-long program commenced with a logo launch ceremony, graced by our esteemed principal and administrator madam, on June 19, 2023. Spanning over 6 days, each session lasting 2 hours, Can Boss featured a diverse range of activities, including:
Day 1 – Initio: Participants used this round as an icebreaker to familiarize themselves with each other and exchange information.
Day 2 – Quiz Kabbadi: An interactive quiz held on June 20, 2023, to test participants’ knowledge across various topics and engage them in intellectually stimulating challenges. The participants’ performance showcased their knowledge diversity and enthusiasm for acquiring and sharing knowledge.
Day 3 – Clash of Orators: A debate platform where participants engaged in structured argumentation, presented opposing viewpoints, and demonstrated their critical thinking and communication skills. The debate format challenged participants to think critically, articulate their ideas, and engage in respectful dialogue.
Day 4 – Telepathy: A fun game aimed at improving verbal communication skills, enhancing teamwork, and fostering better understanding among participants.
Day 5 – Bollywood Themed Mock Press: Participants took on different roles and engaged in a simulated press conference scenario.
Day 6 – The day began with physical games to promote physical activity, followed by food challenges, a quiz, and stress interviews.
The valedictory of Can Boss took place on June 24, 2023. Sri CA M. Jagannath Kamath, the correspondent of the College, and Sri K. Shivananda Shenoy, the manager of the College, graced the occasion as chief guests and announced the winner, ‘Can Boss Mr. Abhin Bangera of III BCom.’ The first runner-up and second runner-up titles were awarded to Ms. Janavi of I BCom and Mr. Yashpal of III BCom, respectively. Dr. Premalatha V., the Principal of the College, distributed participation certificates to all the contestants, and the valedictory ceremony was witnessed by 70 students.
The success of Can Boss was attributed to the enthusiastic participation and active involvement of each individual, making it a memorable and enjoyable event for all.
