The young population aged 15 to 29 holds significant potential to contribute to economic growth and social development. However, a considerable number of young people face challenges as they are not part of the formal education system or regular employment, which leads to increased vulnerability and marginalization.
To address this issue, the State NSS Cell and the National Service Scheme units of Canara College, Mangaluru, organized a training program on “Survey of Youth not in Formal Education or Regular Employment” on July 8, 2023. Mrs. Seema Prabhu S., the Master Trainer, trained 116 NSS Volunteers on conducting the survey. They were taught about the survey schedule, effective communication, and data collection techniques. After the training, the volunteers collected the data, and the filled questionnaires were submitted to the State NSS Cell.
This program aimed to achieve Contribution to National Development by understanding and addressing the challenges faced by young people who are not part of formal education or regular employment.
