Student Welfare Association organized a program on Kargil Vijay Diwas on July 26, 2023. The day is significant in the history as it marks the victory of Indian soldiers in capturing the mountain heights that were occupied by the Pakistani Army on July 26, 1999.
Manjula of final MCom spoke about the importance of this day and said that the Kargil War holds great significance for India and our armed forces. It showed the world that India is powerful enough to safeguard its territorial sovereignty.
The Principal In-charge Mrs. Dejamma A., addressed the students and said that we should remember the valuable sacrifices of 527 martyrs who laid down their lives for India. She mentioned about Captian Vikram Batra who killed four enemy troops in close combat battle, he achieved virtually impossible task in the face of heavy enemy firing before attaining martyrdom. He was awarded the Param Vir Chakra posthumously. Around 35 students participated in this programme.
