The Can-Cabinet and Student Welfare Council of our College organized a ‘Kunita Bhajane’ – an interclass Bhajana competition on September 7,2023 in honor of Shri Krishna Janmashtami, featuring the participation of 12 enthusiastic teams consisting of 144 students and a total of 220 witnesses to the event. The event was inaugurated and addressed by Sri. CA M. Jagannath Kamath, Correspondent, Canara College. In his remarks, he emphasized, that, “Culture is what defines us and what gives us a unique identity.” He also emphasized that it is our bounden duty to preserve and promote our rich culture and tradition. Such initiatives will encourage students to appreciate and develop an interest in our folk traditions. Dr. Premalatha V, principal, presided over the event. Dr. Deepthi Nayak, Administrator, Sri. K. Shivananda Shenoy, Manager of Canara College, and Student Welfare Mentors, Mrs. Babitha S, Mrs. Smitha M, and Mr. Avinash, were part of this event. Mr. Harshith, Student Council President, welcomed the gathering, and Mr. Likhith delivered the vote of thanks. The devotional performances of the competitors enthused the atmosphere with spiritualism. The event concluded by announcing the winners of the event, namely Team Krishnendu II B.Com A, first place, Team Harigopal II BCA B, second place, and Team Partha Sarathi III B.Com A, bagging the third place, The cash prizes for the first place (Rs. 2000/-), second place (Rs.1500/-) and third place (Rs.1000/-) were awarded at the Can Cabinet Student Welfare Council inauguration.
